Glass Chillums

The history of glass chillums can be traced back more than 2000 years ago. Chillums main use throughout history was for religious events. Originally glass chillums were created out of clay because it was the most abundant material in India where they originated. The Indians would have chillums at their disposal and often times would only smoke out of a chillum once before they made a new one. This is what makes glass chillums so unique. Glass chillums have the history that other glass blown pipes do not.

Glass chillums sold at smoke shops are almost always glass. With a full bowl pack chillums contain about four "hits" before they need to be repacked. This is perfect for one or two smokers. Glass chillum pipes are easy to pack and are easily concealed if need be. It is recommended that chillums be used with a screen but can be used without. All X-Cel's glass chillum's come with screen upon order.

The basic design of a glass chillum pipe is like that of a glass cigarette. They are funneled so that the end you pack your tobacco in is larger than the side you inhale from. There is no choke so when you inhale the smoke flows straight through the chillum. Smoking out of a chillum is a new experience as every inhale is smooth and not too harsh. Glass chillums are recommended for any type of smoker.
